Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC)

Ho Chi Minh City is the largest city in Vietnam. Under the name Prey Nokor, it was the main port of Cambodia, before being annexed by the Vietnamese in the 17th century. Under the name Saigon, it was the capital of the French colony of Cochinchina and later of the independent state of the South Vietnam from 1954 to 1975, Sai Gon was officially renamed Ho Chi Minh City. The city center is situated on the bank of Sai Gon River. After more than 300 years of development, Ho Chi Minh City presents many ancient architectural constructions, famous vestiges and renowned sights.
